Playteck Enterprises & Beynon Sports partner with Athletics Alberta

The North American leader in running tracks aims to assist growth in Athletics across Alberta

Edmonton: Athletics Alberta, Playteck Enterprises, and Beynon Sports are pleased to announce a new partnership agreement that will see the worldwide leader in track surfacing and their Canadian partner as the official suppliers of running tracks for Alberta’s provincial track and field association for the next 3 years through to 2021.  Beynon Sports’ renowned line of products leads the industry in IAAF certified products and North American installations. Beynon’s premier track and field surfaces are found in the world’s most celebrated athletic facilities, carrying some of the greatest champions to record-breaking times.

Athletics Alberta’s Executive Director, James Rosnau stated “We are thrilled to be partnered with both Playteck Enterprises and Beynon Sports and their industry-leading products. We have had a great experience with the Beynon products as we have recently hosted several major competitions including Olympic Trials in both 2012 and 2016 as well as the 2015 Panamerican Junior championships which were all staged on Beynon surfaces. Canada’s largest track is currently being built at the Gordie Howe Sports Complex in Saskatoon and we are delighted to be associated with the providers of this industry-leading surface. We are certain this mutually beneficial partnership will collectively help us to further develop athletics-based facilities across the province by making our sport even more accessible and popular.

“We are most happy to partner with Athletics Alberta, one of the leading provincial sports organizations across Canada,” stated Mathieu Auffrey, President of Playteck Enterprises. “With our Beynon Sports surfaces, we are proud of the more than fifty tracks we have installed in all ten provinces across the country and we look forward to taking this to an even higher level in the years to come via our partnership with Athletics Alberta.”

“We are proud of the superior performance and long-lasting benefits associated with our high-quality sports surfaces,” stated John Beynon, President of Beynon Sports. “We look forward to this partnership as we continue to assist in the development of track and field across Alberta and indeed across the entire continent.”

Beynon Sports is exclusively represented in Canada by Playteck Enterprises Inc. Playteck has been transforming the Canadian track market with dozens of installations across every province in the country, now with eleven Class II IAAF certified tracks. The University of Alberta, University of Lethbridge, Foothills and Glenmore Athletic Parks in Calgary, as well as Bonnyville’s Walsh field all, feature Beynon tracks. Currently, Playteck crews are at work installing Canada’s largest track at nearly 12,000 sq meters at the Gordie Howe Sports Complex in Saskatoon, slated for completion in October.
