Welcome to Sport Coaching Online Learning Opportunities

Welcome to Coaching Online Learning Opportunities!

Athletics Canada and the provincial branches recognize that while everyone is socially distanced coaches still have a desire to learn and develop. Though we are unable to host in-person workshops, we have an opportunity to begin NCCP training for Sport Coach and Club Coach through online learning.

What is Offered?

The 4 online courses offered are the “Foundations of Coaching” modules that are common to Sport and Club Coach. Once coaches have completed these theory courses, their next step will be to do an in-person Sport or Club Coach clinic to complete the practical and further planning sessions.

The modules being offered are:

  1. Role of the Coach and Safety
  2. Teaching and Learning
  3. Energy Systems
  4. Planning a practice part

We will be hosting workshops on the dates below.  Each workshop is limited to 12 participants each.

Who Can Attend? Anyone can attend these online sessions for learning or professional development points, but priority will be given to new coaches first.

How do I sign up? Easy. Just head to the Session tab on the left and select the dates/ modules you would like to attend.  You will have to sign up for each module separately.

Is there pre-learning needed?  Yes, 3 of the 4 modules require a participant to do quick pre-learning activities like: What is your coaching philosophy, watch a short 10 minute video, and complete an EAP(emergency action plan), pre-read some pages in the coaching manuals,  etc.

What does it cost? Member – Per session: $20.00 Member , Non-Member – $20.00(non-members must become register for AA Coaching Memberships).

Will i receive credit for attending? Yes, all online workshops are directly connected to NCCP, and will contribute to future learning opportunities and in-person sessions.

What are the dates and times for the modules? We will hosting 3 session over the next 6 weeks, and each session will encompass 4 modules.
