Ryder started track in June as a 16 year old. From never running track he ended up with a great season. Ryder won high school provincials in 400/800. Then he won Alberta summer games 400/800/medley relay and came 2nd in 4×100. From there went to U20 nationals came 3rd in 400 and won gold in 4×400. The icing on the cake was when Ryder went to legion nationals and won gold in the 400 and fourth in the 800 and also medalist in two relays!
Ryder is always humble and willing to learn. He never boasts about winning and always supports his team mates. He is the first to congratulate others and always attribute relay wins to all the team mates.
Ryder was nominated by his father who also sent us the photo.
