Club Coach Sprints & Hurdles – Red Deer

This in-person workshop is modules #6-8 of the Athletics Club Coach Course for Sprints & Hurdles. It is designed for coaches who work with athletes over the age of 15 specifically in the sprinting and hurdling events. It falls into the NCCP Competition Pathway.
In addition to learning advanced technical progressions for all of the sprinting and hurdling events, coaches will also learn age-appropriate strength training and how to put together a seasonal training plan specific to the sprints and hurdles.
LOCATION, DATE & TIME: This event will take place in Red Deer, Alberta on Saturday November 23rd from 8:30a to 5:00p and on Sunday November 24th from 9:00a to 6:15p.
For modules #1-4 of the Athletics Club Coach Course for Sprints & Hurdles, coaches should take “Foundations of Coaching” prior to attending this workshop. The FOC is an online line course and it is being offered in October on the 3rd, 4th, 10th and 11th from 7:30-9:30pm.
Module #5 is called “Introduction to Long-Term Development in Athletics”. It is an eLearning module located in the Locker under Athletics. It too should be taken as a prerequisite prior to attending the Club Coach for Sprints & Hurdles Workshop.
