]Welcome to the Zone 6 Team for the Alberta Summer Games 2016!

Hello Everyone,

Thank you to everyone who showed interest in making the Alberta Summer Games (ASG) Team.
Athletes that did not make the team this year have other opportunities:
1. Other ASG Zones may select you for their Teams and/or
2. Western Tri Provincial Alberta Team will have Tryouts July 2 – 3, 2016 in Sherwood Park.

For more details about this meet please go to Athletics Alberta Website and click Alberta Teams under Track & Field in the Menu.

Athletes that have been selected for the Zone 6 Team must attend the Team practices July 5th, 7th, and 12th at Rollie Miles from3:30pm to 5:00pm. Athletes that are alternates should also be at practices to work on their event areas in case another ASG Zone decides to select him or her for their team. Also athletes that live in Edmonton and are competing in other Zones are welcome to come to Zone 6 practices!

If athletes can not attend the team practices due to a previous commitment, he/she must email their event coach. Athletes will be responsible for maintaining their fitness levels if they can not attend team practices. ALL ATHLETES NEED TO CONFIRM THEIR COMMITMENT TO ASG ZONE 6 TEAM BY COMPLETING  AND UPLOADING THE LIABILITY FORM ON THE ASG WEBSITE . If athletes can no longer attend the ASG, you need to email the Head Coach and your Event Coaches ASAP so we can find a replacement (see email contact into below).

NOTE: ASG Team fee of $125 must be submitted. Athletics Alberta is having difficulty with the online payment and is in the process of fixing the errors. An email notice will be sent by Athletics Alberta next week to let you know when you can make the payment. Parents you will have 48 hours to pay after this notice has been sent. You can also pay in person via cheque or cash between 10:00am and 3:00pm. Alternates must pay as well too otherwise you may miss out on being selected if someone else becomes injured or can no longer attend the games or if another Zone wants to select you.

All athletes on the Zone 6 Roster must also complete Step two of Declaring – Create a profile on ASG site. Please go to Step 4a on the ASG ZONE 6 main page and click on “click here”.

Congratulations to the athletes that have made the Edmonton Alberta Summer Games Team this year!

Welcome to Zone 6

From July 19th to the 22nd, 2018 over 3,000 athletes, coaches and officials from across Alberta will be in Grande Prairie to compete, learn and share experiences of a lifetime at the 2018 Alberta Summer Games.

Athletes ranging in age from 11 to 17 years old representing 14 different sports will befriend teammates and competitors from eight regional zones. Over 2,000 volunteers and 100+ sponsors will pull together to meet a challenge and a common goal: to make the 2018 Alberta Summer Games in Grande Prairie the “Best Ever” Alberta Games.

These Games belong to everyone in the Grande Prairie region and I encourage you to get involved. Join in the excitement and take this opportunity to show with pride our flourishing community, our first class facilities for sport and culture and Grande Prairie’s genuine hospitality. Take this opportunity to invest in our most precious resource – the youth and future of Alberta.

These Games would not be possible without the individuals, groups and businesses who donate their time, money and services. Collectively, they are known as the “Friends of the Games”. I am encouraging you to accept this invitation to become a “Friend of the Games”.
